To get your Samsung fridge out of “Demo” mode, you need to hold and press different buttons, based on the type of fridge that you have.
Although purchasing a new fridge is exciting, it is imperative that you set it up correctly before you can start using it.
When you first switch on your Samsung fridge, it may be in “Demo” mode. You can take your fridge out of this Demo mode by simply pressing and holding a few buttons simultaneously.
What to do when you first set up your new fridge
Purchasing a large appliance for your home can be quite a daunting and exciting experience. However, as the technology and features of modern fridges are advancing, it may no longer be as simple as plugging in the appliance to get it started.
There are a few things that you may need to do to set up your fridge correctly before you can start using it. The first of these is to let the fridge stand for a few hours to make sure that everything settles after the fridge was transported.
You may also need to give the fridge a quick clean and make sure that it is level and in the right place in your kitchen or space.
How to get Samsung fridge out of “Demo” mode
After all of the excitement of purchasing a new fridge, as well as all the time and effort that it can take to get the fridge set up correctly, you will most likely be extremely excited to start using your Samsung fridge as soon as possible.
However, when you switch your Samsung fridge on for the first time, you may notice that it is in “Demo” mode.
This Demo mode can also often be indicated by your fridge as displaying “OFF” or “OF OF” on the front panel and is also sometimes referred to as “Exhibition” mode, “Cooling Off” mode, or “Shop” mode.
Retailers use these modes so that customers can experience the Samsung fridges when they are on display in stores.
Your fridge will not cool when it is in this Demo mode, which is why it is important that you to understand how to get the appliance out of this mode once it is set up in your home.
Fortunately, you can do this by pressing a few buttons on the front of your Samsung Fridge’s display. The buttons that you have to press will vary based on whether you have a non- family hub model, a family hub model, or an older model fridge.
The process to get your Samsung fridge out of Demo mode on non-Family Hub models
On all general Samsung refrigerators models, which does not include the Family Hub models, you need to follow these steps to get the fridge out of the Demo mode and functioning normally:
- Step 1: Locate the display panel on the front of the fridge
- Step 2: Find the “Freezer” and “Alarm” buttons, which should be on the left upper side of this panel
- Step 3: Press and hold these buttons simultaneously for about five seconds until you hear a chime
If this does not take your Samsung fridge out of Demo mode, you can attempt this process again, but this time, press the “Freezer”, “Alarm” and “Fridge” buttons simultaneously until you hear the chime.
The process to get your Samsung fridge out of Demo mode on Family Hub models
Although the process outline above works for Samsung fridge models that do not fall into the Family Hub category, if you do have a Family Hub Samsung fridge, you need to do the following:
- Step 1: Locate the display panel on the front of your fridge
- Step 2: Click on the “Apps” option
- Step 3: Open the “Fridge Manager” application
- Step 4: Click on “Fridge Settings”
- Step 5: Click on the “Cooling Off” slider to deactivate it
- Step 6: Click on “Proceed”
